Our Verdict
Both the Atomberg 1200 mm and 1400 mm ceiling fans are high performance BLDC options. They have smart IR remotes, 5 star BEE rating, 6 speed settings and excellent energy efficiency. So what’s different?
The Atomberg 1400 mm has a larger blade sweep and more coverage area for bigger spaces. 1400 mm is also better for outdoor applications and high ceilings.
If you want maximum room coverage or have a large living space, 1400 mm might be the better choice for you. If you want optimal performance in medium sized rooms and don’t need the extra coverage, 1200 mm is the better choice.

The average noise level is 65+ dB for conventional fans, which means the Atomberg 1400 mm and 1200 mm both operate significantly quieter than average.
The Atomberg 1200 mm has 9.1% less noise than the Atomberg 1400 mm at maximum speed.
The level of noise is documented in the video below. The graphs which follow each video show a quantifiable version of noise levels based on decibel meter data.
You can see here how the noise remains consistently below 50 dB on the Atomberg 1200 mm—excellent results.
On the 1400 mm, the larger blade sweep creates slightly more air turbulence, resulting in marginally higher noise levels that peak at 55 dB.
Coverage Area Test
Both of these Atomberg ceiling fans had good coverage, with the 1400 mm excelling due to its larger blade sweep.
| Coverage Test | Score | Ideal Room Size | Maximum Coverage |
| Atomberg 1400 mm | 9.5 | 150-200 sq ft | 250 sq ft |

| Atomberg 1200 mm | Precise | 6 + Boost |
The average number of speed settings across all ceiling fans tested to date is 3-4, which means that both Atomberg models offer superior control.
These are not uncommon features for BLDC fans, as BLDC technology allows for more precise speed control than conventional motors.
Speed control on both the Atomberg 1400 mm and 1200 mm is smooth enough to provide exact comfort levels, make fine adjustments, and optimize energy consumption.
Build Quality Test
Build quality on the Atomberg ceiling fans is excellent across the board. When considering build quality, we’re looking at two factors—material quality and construction integrity.
| Build Quality Test | Score | Blade Material | Overall Quality |
| Atomberg 1400 mm | 9.0 | Aluminium/ABS | Excellent |
| Atomberg 1200 mm | 9.0 | Aluminium/ABS | Excellent |
Build quality is great, both models have BLDC motors and durable blades.
Average build quality score across all fans tested is 7.5. Both Atomberg models are above average.
I would have loved to see more premium materials like solid wood blades for looks, but that’s not always practical for energy efficient designs.
Smart Features Test
Atomberg 1200 mm and 1400 mm both have good smart feature scores of 8.5. They have IR remote controls, timer functions, sleep modes, LED indicators and optional IoT connectivity in smart variants.
Atomberg 1200 mm is slightly more compact so easier to fit in small spaces. But 1400 mm has same smart features and covers larger area.

Technically the Atomberg 1200 mm has the superior installation experience due to its lighter weight and more manageable size.
However, both fans include professional installation options through Urban Company or Atomberg’s service network.
Maintenance Test
Maintenance requirements are minimal for both of these ceiling fans. As is the case with most BLDC fans, the maintenance phase is limited to occasional cleaning, and the motor requires no regular servicing.
| Maintenance Test | Score | Cleaning Ease | Service Interval |
| Atomberg 1400 mm | 8.5 | Good | Minimal |
| Atomberg 1200 mm | 9.0 | Excellent | Minimal |
Right out of the box, both fans are designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. The 1200 mm scores slightly higher due to easier blade access for cleaning.

Room Suitability
The Atomberg 1200 mm is suitable for a range of room sizes while the Atomberg 1400 mm excels in larger spaces.
| Room Size | Ceiling Height | Suitability |
| Atomberg 1400 mm | 10+ feet | Large rooms, Living rooms, Halls |
| Atomberg 1200 mm | 8-10 feet | Bedrooms, Study rooms, Kitchen |
The Atomberg 1200 mm comes in one standard size—a 1200 mm blade sweep. This is a size with pretty wide appeal that suits most residential rooms.
That’s where the Atomberg 1400 mm comes in. This ceiling fan with its 1400 mm sweep—provides superior coverage for larger spaces.
As with most generalizations, there are always some exceptions. If you have a very large living room or high ceilings, you may prefer a larger fan. Or if you have a very compact room under 100 sq ft, you may want an even smaller option.
This ceiling fan takes a win here and encompasses a wider coverage area.
Support & Room Types
If you’re not sure which size is best for you, check the tables below. To use these tables, find your room size and ceiling height.
As you can see, not all fan sizes are suitable for all rooms. It’s important to know your room dimensions prior to purchasing a new ceiling fan.

Design
Because both of these ceiling fans are manufactured by the same company, Atomberg, they have a similar design, technology, and features.
| Design | Type | Blade Sweep |
| Atomberg 1400 mm | BLDC Motor Fan | 1400 mm |
| Atomberg 1200 mm | BLDC Motor Fan | 1200 mm |
These are both BLDC motor fans with smart remotes, multiple speed settings, and similar construction quality too.

The biggest difference in the makeup of these two ceiling fans is essentially the blade sweep.

On the Atomberg 1200 mm, there is a 1200 mm blade sweep, and the 1400 mm has blades that span 1400 mm. Also, the 1400 mm typically weighs slightly more due to the larger blade size, which impacts installation but not performance.
Which Ceiling Fan Should You Buy?
As you can see in the tests and analysis above, even though the blade sweep is the biggest difference between these two ceiling fans, this factor alone has a decent impact on performance, across the board.
| Atomberg Ceiling Fans | Score | Best For | Room Size | Check Price |
| Atomberg 1400 mm | 9.12 | Large Rooms, Maximum Coverage | 150-200+ sq ft | Check Price |

Should I Buy the Atomberg 1200 mm?
I would recommend the Atomberg 1200 mm if:
- Lower Price Point – While the 1400 mm does outperform the 1200 mm in coverage categories, the difference isn’t huge. If you want to save some cash and still have a great ceiling fan, the Atomberg 1200 mm is a good choice.
- Compact Profile – If you don’t want a 1400 mm ceiling fan, stick with the 1200 mm which is perfect for medium sized rooms.
- Easier Installation – Because of the lighter weight, the 1200 mm is also easier to install than the 1400 mm (especially for DIY installation).
Should I Buy the Atomberg 1400 mm?
I would recommend the Atomberg 1400 mm if:
- Better Overall Performance – The Atomberg 1400 mm was as good or better than the original Atomberg 1200 mm in most categories. Most notably, it has better coverage and higher max RPM. If coverage area or air circulation is important to you then the 1400 mm is the clear choice.
- Larger Spaces – If you’re looking for a fan for living rooms, halls or large bedrooms, the 1400 mm is the right size. It covers 20-30% more area.
- Outdoor Applications – The 1400 mm performs better in semi-outdoor spaces where more air movement is needed.
- High Ceilings – The 1400 mm maintains better air circulation when installed on ceilings above 10 feet.
FAQ
No. The Atomberg 1400 mm may be too big for bedrooms under 150 sq ft. The excessive air circulation can be uncomfortable and the large sweep may look disproportionate.
For smaller bedrooms, you may want to opt for the Atomberg 1200 mm which provides optimal air circulation for 100-150 sq ft rooms. In most cases, smaller rooms require proportionally sized fans to achieve the same comfort level as larger fans in bigger spaces.
