Our Recommendations
All in all, we can suggest Atomberg Renesa Halo Smart and then Superfan SuperV1. We are quite fond of Atomberg Renesa Halo due to its great balance of air delivery, intelligent features and power consumption. The after sales service is also quite good. Superfan SuperV1 is also a relatively good choice. However, it is not as refined as Atomberg is in design and smart connexion. Furthermore, when you consider it, Atomberg is spending much more money on brand building and marketing than Superfan. Even at that time, Superfan has a loyal customer base since it was the first brand of BLDC fans in India and to a large extent it is marketed through word of mouth publicity. The majority of users are rather satisfied with Superfan and come back to it. Havells Amaya is a good alternative to those who care about aesthetics and brand loyalty, but its aftersales service network, despite being so large, also gets negative feedback in terms of quickness in addressing BLDC-related problems.
How We Tested?
The article has attempted to test 7 of the most sold 1400 mm BLDC ceiling fans in India.
We have first of all documented the physical parameters such as sweep size, weight, material of the blade, power consumption and noise level. Then to test the presence of any drastic difference in the delivery of air we clamped each fan to a standard height of 10 feet above the floor and measured the airflow at a distance of 1 metre below the fan at top speed with an anemometer. Although Superfan SuperV1 and Atomberg Renesa Halo provided high and steady airflow, Atomberg Ikano was weaker by far because of its lower CMM rating.
We also turned on all the fans to the highest speed and measured the noise level with a decibel metre at a distance of 2 metres. We inspected the fan whether it wobbled or vibrated at any speed setting. We also tried the range and responsiveness of the remote control at various corners of a typical 12×14 feet room.
Moreover, we spent 2 weeks with each ceiling fan in a normal house to know how comfortable the airflow was, how user-friendly the remote and app controls were, and how easily it could be installed and cleaned in a daily environment. After that, we provided the fans to our friends and family in order to be able to update the article in the future regarding its long-term performance.
Best 1400 mm Ceiling Fans In India
Here are 7 1400mm BLDC ceiling fans compared. Help yourself choose the best one for your home. I have compared Orient Electric I Tome Pro, Atomberg Renesa Halo , Atomberg Ikano, Aris Starlight Smart, Superfan SuperV1, OCECO Fansio and Havells Amaya across multiple parameters.
Atomberg Renesa Halo Smart 1400 mm BLDC Ceiling Fan

Atomberg Renesa Halo Smart is one of the most balanced 1400 mm BLDC ceiling fans that you can purchase at the moment. It is in a smooth contemporary style with a contrast colour highlight ring which gives any room a sense of sophistication.
To begin with, the fan provides 250 CMM of air delivery with only 35W of power consumption. It is a service value of about 7.14 CMM per watt, which is one of the best in this segment. The BEE 5-star rated BLDC motor guarantees a maximum of 65 percent savings on electricity use than fans with unrated induction motors. The savings per year can be very high in case of a household that has 3-4 fans operating 10-12 hours a day.

The fan has a noise level of less than 57 dB. Although not the quietest in this list, Superfan SuperV1 and Atomberg Aris Starlight are quieter, it is still much quieter than most standard induction motor fans that run at 65 dB or higher.
One of the specific features that make a particular impression on the Renesa Halo Smart is its IoT connectivity. The fan can be controlled using the Atomberg Home mobile app, Google Home, and Alexa on top of the included IR remote. The app also monitors usage, energy usage and savings, which provides you with improved control and monitoring.
The blades are constructed of aluminium that is durable and relatively simple to wipe off using a dry cloth. The LED speed indicator on the motor housing is a good addition, you can tell the speed setting of the fan at a glance even in the dark.
False ceiling or low ceiling height is also compatible with the fan. It is supplied with an extra ceiling plate other than the canopy set. When you have normal ceiling height then you can have the complete canopy set-up. However, with false ceilings, the bottom canopy can be used as the top ceiling plate. This guarantees easy installation in most systems.
Speaking of the aftersales service, Atomberg has expanded considerably over the last several years having more than 1 crore satisfied customers. They have a relatively responsive customer service. The fan is backed by a 3-year warranty, which is a sufficient source of peace of mind. They also possess a good network of service centres in the big cities.
In general, Atomberg Renesa Halo Smart is a good balance between performance, features and price. In case you are seeking a fan with a high airflow, consumes less electricity and fits perfectly into your smart home, this is our best choice.
Atomberg Ikano 1400 mm BLDC Ceiling Fan

The most power-efficient fan in this list is atomberg Ikano that only consumes 28W at speed 5. To the fans who are more concerned with saving electricity, this is by far the most cost effective to operate.
However, it is evident that the tradeoff is in air delivery. It provides significantly lower airflow than 180 CMM of the Renesa Halo or 270 CMM of the Superfan. You will feel it in a big living room or a bedroom with high ceilings. It is more appropriate in bedrooms or study rooms where one would want to have a gentle continuous breeze rather than a powerful rush of air.

The fan is designed in a classic way and the powder finish is glossy. Although it appears clean and neat, it is not as designer as the Aris Starlight or the Havells Amaya. It however has a built-in LED light which is a nice addition to rooms that do not have elaborate lighting systems. The motor speed is rated at 365 RPM, which is higher than most of the ones in this list. However, the reduced effective blade angle and design of the higher RPM leads to reduced CMM output.

The fan is fitted with Smart IR remote which provides 6 speed levels and boost mode, timer and sleep mode. The disadvantage though is that it lacks IoT or app connectivity as the Renesa Halo Smart or the Aris Starlight Smart. Thus, the remote and wall regulator is the only option you have.
The Ikano has excelled in one aspect, its stability in speed when voltage changes. The BLDC motor operates well between 165 V and 285 V, which is an advantage in places with unpredictable power supply. Atomberg also boasts of running 3X longer on inverter battery than the normal fans, which is a great advantage when there is a power outage.
The fan is approximately 4 kg and can be easily mounted using a standard downrod mount. It is accompanied by a 2+1 year warranty- 2 years standard and an extra 1 year when you register your purchase in the Atomberg site. All in all, Atomberg Ikano is a good cheap BLDC fan when your room is not too large and you are more interested in saving energy. However, when you require a high air delivery to a bigger room, then you should look at the Renesa Halo or Superfan SuperV1 instead.
Atomberg Aris Starlight Smart 1400 mm BLDC Ceiling Fan

The most high-end fan in the Atomberg line on this list is Atomberg Aris Starlight Smart. It has received the LOOP Design Award in 2023, and, frankly speaking, it is well deserved. The sleek profile and the aerodynamic ABS blades provide it with a very modern appearance that fits perfectly with the modern interiors.
The only difference between the Aris Starlight and all other alternatives is its level of noise. It is quieter than a running refrigerator or a whisper at less than 52 dB. This is a huge benefit in the case of bedrooms, home offices and study areas. Compared to it, the Renesa Halo has a 57 dB and the Orient I Tome Pro has 60 dB. This difference is not much on paper, but it is very evident in practise, particularly at night.
Atomberg uses the Advance Air+ technology to power the fan, and the company states that this can provide the airflow that is more powerful, smoother and designed to reach every corner of the room. It is equal to the Renesa Halo and Orient I Tome Pro at 250 CMM of air delivery. However it uses 41W, which is more than the 35W of the Renesa Halo. The service value is approximately 6.1 CMM/watt, which is not the best but decent on this list.
Another special attribute of the Aris Starlight is the LED underlight. It is available in 3 colour modes of Cool, Warm and Daylight with variable levels of intensity. It uses only 6W of power, and can be controlled both in the remote and the Atomberg Home app. It is an aspect that is not provided by any other fans in this list and it actually provides style and functionality.
Similar to the Renesa Halo Smart, the Aris Starlight can be controlled using the IoT through the Atomberg Home app, Google Home, Alexa and Homebridge and Home Assistant. The fan also has a telescopic canopy which fits the false ceiling.
The ABS blades are one of the disadvantages. Although they are light, corrosion resistant and can be cleaned using a dry microfibre cloth, they are more prone to dust accumulation than aluminium blades. In addition, the ABS blades may also tend to get brittle after several years when it is exposed to direct sunlight, but this is not likely to happen to an indoor ceiling fan.
The fan also has a 3+2 year warranty 3 years of standard and 2 years of registration. Another nice touch to a high-end product is that Atomberg provides free installation throughout India.
Altogether, when you are not limited by the budget and desire to have a ceiling fan that is not only beautiful but also works quietly and fits perfectly into your smart home, Atomberg Aris Starlight Smart is a great option.
Orient Electric I Tome Pro 1400 mm BLDC Ceiling Fan

Orient Electric is a brand that is most reliable in the Indian fan market and the I Tome Pro is their flagship BLDC product in the 1400 mm segment. It has a performance to efficiency ratio that is equal to that of the Atomberg Renesa Halo at 250 CMM of air delivery and 35W power consumption. Service value of 7.14 CMM/watt is one of the best in this list.
The fan has 3 aluminium blades and it is offered in three colour choices- Topaz Gold, White and Space grey. The design is simple and minimalistic, and it suits the majority of interior designs. It lacks the stylishness of the Aris Starlight or the contrast ring of the Renesa Halo. However, it is office and living room friendly as it appears clean and professional.
One of the features that comes in handy is the timer on the remote. The fan can be programmed to switch off after 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours. This comes in very useful especially when you are sleeping and do not need the fan to operate throughout the night. The remote also has 5 speed levels with LED indicator lights and a boost mode to allow maximum airflow.

However, it has a disadvantage in the fact that the remote range is limited to approximately 15 feet. You can be in a big room, and the remote will not react in the distant areas. In addition, the I Tome Pro lacks IoT and app connectivity, unlike the Atomberg Renesa Halo and Aris Starlight. It also does not have any Google Home or Alexa integration. This may be a major constraint to users who are creating a smart home ecosystem.
Speaking of noise, the I Tome Pro has a lower noise at less than 60 dB. This is greater than the majority of other choices on this list.
On the upside, Orient Electric boasts of one of the best aftersales service systems in India. Their service centres are almost in all cities and towns. The availability of spare parts is also easy and the technicians are usually well familiar with the product. This is a decisive advantage compared to such brands as Superfan and OCECO that are less widespread.
Orient asserts to save up to 6,500 on electricity bills annually than a 75W induction fan. Although the amount saved will be determined by how you use it, the savings in a few years will be calculated and will well justify the slightly higher initial cost.
In general, Orient I Tome Pro is a good and high-quality BLDC fan that belongs to a reputable brand. It is a good option in case you are more focused on the accessibility of the service network and do not require smart home integration.
Superfan SuperV1 1400 mm BLDC Ceiling Fan

The Superfan was the first brand of BLDC fans in India and the SuperV1 still fulfils the promise that made them popular, high air delivery, and low power consumption. This is the highest air delivery of all the fans on this list at 270 CMM. The SuperV1 is the best in large rooms, halls or areas that require maximum airflow.
The fan is 40W, and this is more than 35W of Atomberg Renesa Halo. However, the additional wattage is more than compensated by the fact that the air delivery of 270 CMM is significantly greater than that of 250 CMM. The service value is calculated to be 6.75 CMM/watt, which is highly competitive.
The real difference between the SuperV1 and the rest is the noise level. It is the least noisy fan in this list with only 49 dB. That is noisier than a running refrigerator. This almost noiseless operation is a great benefit to light sleepers or to study rooms in which concentration is the most important factor. By contrast, the Atomberg Aris Starlight, a fan that advertises itself as a noiseless one, has a noise level of 52 dB.
The fan is provided with a remote control with several speed options, timer and natural breeze mode. The breeze mode adjusts the fan speed to replicate a natural wind pattern, which most customers prefer to a steady blast of air. The SuperV1, however, is not connected to the IoT or apps, similarly to Orient I Tome Pro. It does not have Google Home or Alexa integration.
One of the disadvantages is the design. The SuperV1 is quite primitive and a little outdated in comparison with the smooth design of the Atomberg Renesa Halo or the high-end finish of the Havells Amaya. The few colour choices do not help either. This is not the best option in a modern living room, especially when aesthetics are of concern.
The fan is powder-coated and weighs approximately 5 kg, which is a little more than the majority of the options in this list. The blades are wider and longer and this is the reason why there is an increase in air delivery. This, however, also implies that you require a room of a sufficiently large size, as very small rooms may be overwhelmed by the airflow of such long blades.
Superfan has a 5 year warranty as a manufacturer, the longest warranty in this list. This is an appeal to their trust in the durability of the product. They have a fairly responsive customer service, although not as broad as Orient or Havells.
In general, when air delivery and silent operation are of the highest priority, and you do not care about a more complicated design, Superfan SuperV1 is, perhaps, the best in this category.
OCECO Fansio 1400 mm BLDC Ceiling Fan

OCECO is a comparatively new brand in the ceiling fan market based on BLDC. Their 1400 mm segment offering is the Fansio which is priced very aggressively at less than Rs. 4,000 and is the most affordable offering on this list.
The fan is powered by a BLDC motor of 34W, which is rather efficient. It is 3 aluminium bladed with a metallic brown finish which appears reasonably good at the price. It is also one of the lightest fans that we have reviewed at 4kg.
However, here is a major issue. The air delivery stated by OCECO is 280 centilitres per second, which is an unusual unit. Air delivery is also referred to in Cubic Metres per Minute (CMM) which is the standard of air delivery as used by BEE and BIS most reputed brands in India. The fact that an unfamiliar unit has been used renders direct comparison of the air delivery of the Fansio with other fans on this list impossible. We suggest that the actual CMM figure should be checked before purchasing, with the manufacturer or the BEE site.
The manufacturer also fails to indicate the noise level, which is the other crucial information that is lacking. The rest of the options in this list have their noise levels indicated clearly.
The fan is remote controlled and has the option of speed settings. It has 5 power levels. However, it does not have such features as boost mode, sleep mode or timer as in the case of the remote of Atomberg.
Discussing the quality of the build, it is sufficient at the price. The metallic finish is fairly good and the blades are solid enough. However, it lacks the sophistication or the detailing that you find in Atomberg, Superfan or Havells products.
The biggest problem with OCECO is after sales service. The brand does not have a broad network of services as Orient or Havells. In smaller cities, it may be hard to find spares. They also do not respond to their customer service as well as Atomberg. In the case of a product that you are planning to use 8-10 years, poor aftersales service can be a killer.
The fan is provided with 3 years warranty and CE certification. Nevertheless, it does not specify BEE star rating on the product listing which is another source of ambiguity.
In general, OCECO Fansio is a good budget product in case you have a tight budget and require a simple BLDC fan. However, its unclear specifications and limited after sales services make it a dangerous purchase when compared to more established brands.
Havells Amaya 1400 mm BLDC Ceiling Fan

Havells is a well-known brand of electrical products in India, and the Amaya is their high-end BLDC ceiling fan product. It is also easily the most expensive fan on the list at approximately Rs. 13,000. But Havells defends the premium by the design, the quality of the build and brand loyalty.
The blades are painted with a PU finish that is significantly better than the powder-coated finish on the majority of other fans. The Italian-inspired design renders it fit to high-end interior design where both the functionality and the aesthetics matter.
The fan provides 255 CMM of air delivery with 40W. The service value is estimated at 6.38 CMM/watt, which is not the best service value on this list. The Havells Amaya uses more power to deliver air slightly better than the Atomberg Renesa Halo that provides 250 CMM at 35W, or the Orient I Tome Pro that provides 250 CMM and 35W. The change of 5 CMM is hardly noticeable in practise.
It has a motor speed of 270 RPM and noise level of less than 56 dB. It is also less noisy than the Orient I Tome Pro and more noisy than the Superfan SuperV1 and the Atomberg Aris Starlight. To the majority of users, 56 dB is comfortable in bedrooms and living rooms.
The built-in voltage stabilisation is a helpful feature. The fan is made of 100 percent copper wire and has an inbuilt voltage stabilisation to ensure that it can perform constantly. This implies that it is always fast regardless of fluctuations in voltage, which is also prevalent in most areas of India.
The remote all-direction sensing is rather responsive. It has timer options of 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours and a memory option that recalls the last time you used it when next switched on. Nonetheless, similar to Orient I Tome Pro, the Havells Amaya lacks IoT and app connectivity. No Google Home or Alexa integration. The lack of smart features is a significant omission in the case of a fan of this price.
Speaking of after sales service, Havells has a vast network in India. Authorised service centres are available in most towns and cities. Spares are usually on stock. However, certain users have also said that their BLDC-related problems take longer to fix than their normal fan complaints because the technology is rather new and not every service technician is equally trained to handle it.
In general, Havells Amaya is a high-quality ceiling fan with its outstanding design and construction. It is worth considering in case you are in need of a fan that is elegant and has a trusted brand. However, at Rs. 13,000, you are paying a high premium over other alternatives such as Atomberg Renesa Halo or Superfan SuperV1, which have the same or better performance at a lower cost.
How To Choose A 1400 mm Ceiling Fan?
These are some of the main points to consider when purchasing a 1400 mm high speed air delivery ceiling fan.
Motor Type
Ceiling fans in India are available in two major types of motors, which include an induction motor and a BLDC motor. Let us look at each in detail.
The traditional type of fans that are used in most Indian households is the Induction Motor Fans. They are cheap to purchase and are easily accessible. However, they are much more power hungry, at 70-80W on average, and less energy efficient. They are more likely to get hot when they are used extensively, are noisier and have lower life cycle than BLDC fans.
Induction motor fans are still being purchased by many due to their low initial price. However, when you take the electricity bill in 5-7 years, BLDC fans would be much cheaper in terms of total cost of ownership. Induction motor fans are also being slowly replaced with more efficient ones as the standards of BEE rating are tightening.
The more modern and energy saving one is the BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) Motor Fans. A BLDC motor normally uses only 28-40W, which is a saving of up to 65% of the electricity used by unrated induction motor fans. They are also less noisy, longer lasting and offer constant speed even in cases of changes in voltage.
Air Delivery (CMM)
The air delivery is in Cubic Metres per Minute (CMM) and is among the most important specifications to consider when purchasing a ceiling fan. The increasing CMM value indicates an increase in the quantity of air that is being forced by the fan per minute. A good air delivery is usually 230-270 CMM in the case of a 1400 mm fan.
| Air Delivery (CMM) | Rating |
| Below 200 CMM | Low—suitable for small rooms or mild climates |
| 200-240 CMM | Moderate—adequate for bedrooms and study rooms |
| 240-260 CMM | Good—suitable for most living rooms and bedrooms |
| 260+ CMM | Excellent—ideal for large rooms and hot climates |
Nevertheless, CMM is not a complete storey. The diffusion of the air flow is also important. There are fans that focus the air under the blades and there are those that distribute the air more evenly in the room. This depends on the design of the blade, size of pitch and sweep.
Power Consumption and BEE Star Rating.
Power usage is a significant consideration to any appliance that operates 10-15 hours in a day. BLDC fans normally use 28-45W and induction fans use 70-80W. Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) classifies the ceiling fans as 1 to 5 star rating. The most energy efficient fan is a 5-star rated fan.

It is not only necessary that the ceiling fan you purchase has a valid BEE star rating. Unrated fans with BEE rating might not be as efficient as they should be and might turn out to be more expensive in the long run. The BEE star rating is printed on all reputed brands on the product and the packaging. However, other less well-known brands either do not do it or show false efficiency claims.
Noise Level
Noise is a factor that is usually ignored during the purchase of a ceiling fan yet it has a great impact in comfort particularly in bedrooms and study rooms. The typical BLDC fans run at 50-60 dB, whereas standard induction fans may run to 65 dB or higher.
To put it in perspective, 50 dB is the noise of a quiet conversation or a running refrigerator. 60 dB is the noise of normal conversation at a moderate distance. A 50 dB to 60 dB might be numerically minor but decibels are measured on a logarithmic scale, thus 60 dB is perceived to be about twice as loud as 50 dB.
When you are a light sleeper or you intend to use the fan in a study or working area, then a fan with noise levels that are less than 55 dB is the best.
Blade Material
The blades of the ceiling fans are constructed using aluminium or ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic. Let us look at each.
The most common in 1400 mm segment are the Aluminium Blades. They are robust, strong and deliver well on air. They can also be washed quite easily. They are however heavier than ABS blades and may corrode with time in humid or coastal regions unless well coated.

ABS Blades weigh less, are resistant to corrosion and are usually more stylish. They can be washed easily- a dry microfibre cloth is mostly enough. However, they may crack after several years when subjected to direct sunlight or high temperatures but this is not likely to happen with indoor ceiling fans. Designer or high-end fans are more likely to have ABS blades.
Sweep Size
The diameter of the circle which the fan blades follow is called the sweep size. The size of the sweep of all the fans on this list is 1400 mm (56 inches), which is the standard size of large rooms in India. The following is a rough guide on selecting the appropriate size of the sweep depending on the size of your room.
| Room Size | Recommended Sweep |
| Up to 80 sq. ft. | 900-1050 mm |
| 80-120 sq. ft. | 1200 mm |
| 120-150 sq. ft. | 1400 mm |
| 150+ sq. ft. | 1400 mm or multiple fans |
In rooms bigger than 150 sq. ft. two fans may be necessary to circulate the air instead of using one large fan. Click here to know more about the 1200 mm Vs. 1400 mm – Atomberg Ceiling Fan comparison.
False Ceiling Compatibility
False ceilings are common in many modern houses which lower the effective ceiling height. In case you have a false ceiling, make sure that the fan that you purchase is compatible. Others are fitted with a plate or telescopic canopy on the fan, which can be flush mounted on a false ceiling. Otherwise, the fan will be suspended too low and appear clumsy, or even not fit at all.
Warranty and After Sales Service.
Ceiling fans are long term investments which you anticipate to last 8-10 years. Warranty and availability of after sales service are therefore significant. The majority of BLDC fans have a 3-year standard warranty, and some such as Superfan have a 5-year warranty. Also make sure that spares such as capacitors, remote controls and blades are readily available. Brands such as Havells and Orient have a broader network of services than Atomberg, Superfan and OCECO.
FAQs
The 1400 mm BLDC ceiling fans brands in India include Atomberg and Superfan. They have good air delivery, energy saving and intelligent features. Other good alternatives that have broader aftersales service networks include Orient Electric and Havells.
Conclusion
Among the given possibilities, we would recommend Atomberg Renesa Halo Smart and Superfan SuperV1. Atomberg Renesa Halo Smart is our recommendation to the people who prefer having a balanced fan with high air delivery, intelligent features and smooth design. Its future-readiness is due to the IoT connectivity, integration of voice assistant and app control. We recommend Superfan SuperV1 to the people who value the ability to deliver as much air as possible and operate without noise as the highest value. It has a simple raw performance that is unmatched at 270 CMM and 49 dB. The Orient Electric I Tome Pro is the next best suggestion we have. It is a safe and reliable option with a good network of services, good performance and simple operation. The disadvantage is, however, the lack of smart features and a little bit higher noise than Atomberg and Superfan. The Havells Amaya is also worth considering, although at a very high price of Rs. 13,000, you are paying a high price to have the style.
With all these in mind, we have shortlisted the best 1400 mm ceiling fans to offer to you.
